Cairns to Brisbane

A great family holiday along the beautiful east coast of Australia. Starting from Cairns through Mackay and Townsville you will experience the beauty of the Pacific. Go scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef and swim with sea turtles, dolphins and other great sea creatures. This will be one of the greatest highlight during this trip so don’t forget to take as many pictures as you can! If you stop at the highlighted map sites there is fun activities and sights for everyone. For example the Coral sea kayaking tour in Mackay or get to know everything about the underwater world. End your self-drive holiday with a visit to Australia Zoo where you can see live wildlife shows and animal feedings. This travel route takes you from Cairns to the Queensland capital city of Brisbane in a relaxing seven day journey which shows you the most beautiful beaches- it is a perfect getaway.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Cairns

This great deal is definitely worthwhile. Two hours will be spent at Green Island, the 6000 year old coral cay located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park – one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Then three hours at the Outer Reef Activity Platform. There will be a reef education presentation and an underwater observatory with the option to snorkel! Buffet lunch and tea with cake are included.

Day 2: Cairns to Mission Beach

Day 3: Mission Beach to Townsville

This day activity is perfect for the whole family. Learn everything about Queenslands animals, history, cultures or get a sneak peak at what happens behind the scenes at the Queensland Museum. You are able to ask questions about anything, the helpful and knowledgeable Queensland Museum staff are on hand to welcome your questions and encourage discovery.

 

Day 4: Townsville to Mackay

Day 5: Mackay to Yeppoon

Day 6: Yeppoon to Bundaberg

Go crazy at Bundy’s newest attractions like Crazy Dodgems and Jurassic Put! A whole day of fun for the whole family guaranteed. For the little ones there are activities like Tiny Town and Monster Slide, the Zone 3 Laser Tag for the older ones and for the whole family a 9 Hole Mini Putt Putt Golf Course. Complete with Scary Dinosaurs in Fluoro Lighting and surround sound, it is a great experience for everyone with the courage to beat the course.

Day 7: Bundaberg to Brisbane

How about a visit to Australia Zoo on the last day of your trip? For the real wildlife enthusiasts this trip will end in Queenslands biggest Zoo. Spend the day feeding elephants, getting information about otters, tortoises, birds crocodiles and koala’s this day will be a memorable one.
